John Viehman spent the early days of his career in the outdoors. He is best known for his work with BACKPACKER magazine, where he was Publishing Director for almost two decades, which included producing and hosting two award-winning outdoor television series, ANYPLACE WILD and TRAILSIDE. He’s a frequent keynoter and guest expert, equally at ease in front of a trail club or the U.S. Congress. Obviously, John has spent an extraordinary amount of time in the outdoors. In fact, the last time he tried to keep count, one year he logged over 150 days in the field developing outdoor products and searching for the perfect sunset, not necessarily in that order. No surprise that when he's not hiking down a trail, climbing up a mountain, paddling down a river or sailing across a seamless wilderness lake,a John relishes the simple life he’s found in a coastal village along the coast of Maine.
